Susi Childers
A professional photographer from southern Germany who left a successful career in 1997 to join Youth With A Mission. With a camera in her hand she has traveled to over 82 nations, seeking to be a bridge between situations of great need and those who can make a difference.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”Proverbs 31:8–9

Her work
Her journeys have taken her to some of the roughest parts of the planet: Afghanistan during war, the Amazon jungle, Northern Nigeria during severe persecution of the church, and remote islands of the Pacific.
Her calling is to be “a voice for the voiceless.” She has sparked thousands into action — change that has been social and, in some cases, political. She speaks in venues as diverse as Harvard University, youth camps, large conferences, and YWAM globally.
She co-founded photogenX and A Voice for the Voiceless. photogenX uses photography and media to empower people to change their world. A Voice for the Voiceless speaks up for those who cannot speak for themselves and fights for justice. Through these ministries she has trained hundreds of young people in photography, challenging them to use their gift for the purposes of God.
Susi has helped produce many photographic publications. Among them: A Voice for the Voiceless Prayer Book, which sold over 100,000 copies and was translated into 10 languages; A Voice for Life (advocating against infanticide in the Amazon); The Go Lifestyle (a call to lifestyle missions); plus fine-art photo calendars and exhibitions.
She is a dedicated mother of three and lives in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii with Paul.
